Dear Prayer Team,December, 2009

I would like to thank you for praying, express praise and state a need. Recently, I have been overwhelmed because Wendy, Abby and T.J. have been through a great deal since my accident, and I had not been able to comprehend, see or feel the complete gift that you as prayer warriors have given to me. Please accept our appreciation and please pass this on to anyone you have asked to pray for us.

In Acts 9:34, Peter says to Aeneas,”Jesus Christ heals you.” Praise God for your prayers. After the accident, I wanted results. I wanted to be healthy again. “Why couldn’t my life be the way it was?” God wanted me praising Him in spite of my circumstances and to remain in Him as He remains in me. (John 15:4) My purpose in living is giving every part of my life to Christ. A calmness and a peace has swept over me.

I am realizing that there are a greater number of you praying than we know. As an example, I was talking to a past coach and someone approached us and said “You are the one that so many have been praying for. You could have died or been paralyzed. I have been praying. God answered our prayers and I am glad that you have created Legacy Lodge.” Thank you for your sincere prayers. We praise God and He is the reason for living. He has done a dramatic and unexplainable miracle.

Legacy Lodge is living out 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 that says “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”

The “Relationships as Seen through God’s eyes” retreat went exceedantly and abundantly better than we could have done on our own. The evaluations that couples filled out after the retreat gave us encouragement that God’s truth was heard, that a need was met, and the whole day was fun. We implemented the day as we would run a family camp and with our Little Legacies Coordinator in charge, the children’s program was given rave reviews. Keith Dorscht spoke encouragement into marriages with compassion and truth. We have heard from couples they are communicating differently. God has answered prayers. We will have a video recounting the day soon. As we mentioned at the marriage retreat, we also ask for your legacy to begin today.

I am glad to be living today and developing character through perseverance. Together, we can share this miracle of prayer and recovery. I have been asked, “How can I help?” I have responded by saying, “Please pray.” Additionally, if you feel led to support Legacy Lodge in a more tangible way, we need financial support to grow this ministry for our next event and towards reaching that next person.
